It looks like die-hard fans of the iconic 1990s supernatural show "The X-Files" could be coming much closer to getting their fondest wish: a reboot of the popular hit. For years it was something that fans campaigned for, and while other parties kind of liked the idea, there was no serious discussion about it until now. Now that Fox has seen a show like "24" be successfully rebooted for a limited run, they are interested in doing the same for Moulder and Scully, who were played to perfection by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. -
Is Barbara Walters Headed Back to 'The View' to Keep the Peace?
Things have been falling apart fast on this season of ABC's "The View," and the network is scrambling to figure out what to do to get the fiasco under control. Whatever personal turmoil might have originally existed between Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell has now spilled out while they are on-camera, and last week's shouting match took the discord to a whole new level of hostility. The brass is desperate to put together a trouble-shooting game plan, and it seems like they have already given up on the current season and are looking ahead. Rumor has it they are hoping to woo Barbara Walters back to the show to get things back under control.According to a report by Radar Online, ABC is ready and more than willing to write off this season if it thinks it can put out a better product beginning next fall."They've been talking about just letting it run its course this season and bringing it back with Barbara and a new panel in the fall. They've talked about how to creatively bring her back and maybe use a little comedy, like it was all just a bad dream," says the source. -
Katherine Heigl Loves Having a Creative Say as Executive Producer on 'State of Affairs'
Katherine Heigl is one of those actresses who has the kind of reputation that precedes her. She left "Grey's Anatomy" to star in a string of films, totally expecting to morph into a big-screen star. That did not exactly happen and her difficult reputation kind of took on a life of its own. For a while Heigl was having a tough time finding a job, and then along came "State of Affairs."While she was said to be totally against the idea of returning to prime-time television for the longest time, she is working as an executive producer on her new NBC show, which means a lot of creative control is now in the palm of her hand. Heigl was interviewed by The Wrap while at a fundraising gala for The Trevor Project, an organization connected with gay teen suicide prevention, and she said she never expected to enjoy her new role on the NBC drama as much as she has been. -
It Looks Like 'RHONJ' Will Be Shelved Until Teresa Giudice Is Released from Prison in April 2016!
Just about every day now we are hearing a different story about what the future may hold for Teresa Giudice in terms of work. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star is scheduled to begin serving a 15-month sentence Jan. 5 after pleading guilty to financial fraud. The most recent season of her reality show wrapped up in October, and now Bravo executives need to figure out what they are going to do. At first it was rumored that "RHONJ" would continue on and bring back some old fan favorites to the canvas, but now it seems that Bravo is more inclined to put the series on hiatus.According to a report by Radar Online, sources close to the show are saying that network execs are fearing that without Giudice, the ratings will be dismal. Even with her there this past season, the numbers took a serious dip. Apparently, some insiders seem to think that shelving the show for a while is the best thing to do. Storylines seem to be a real problem because most of the latest additions to the cast have bored viewers into changing the channel. If "RHONJ" takes a break now and returns in 2016 with Giudice in the cast, fresh out of prison, it would likely do well. Fans of the show would want to see if jail time has changed her, and we already know that Giudice will be looking for a way to profit from her unfortunate experience. It might actually be the only way to get more mileage out of the show. -
Mickey Rourke Defeats 29-Year-Old Elliot Seymour in First Boxing Match in Two Decades
Mickey Rourke may have been away from the boxing ring for 20 years but you wouldn't have known it when he knocked out his 29-year old opponent, Elliot Seymour, yesterday in Moscow Russia. Luzhniki Stadium was the location where former Golden Gloves winner, Seymour, didn't seem to even try to get a good punch or two in before Rourke was declared the champ. -
Ray Rice's Suspension from NFL Lifted as 'Today' Prepares to Air Interview with Janay Palmer Rice Next Week
Ray Rice finally won the war to preserve his career on Friday, and his suspension from the NFL has been lifted, effective immediately. That means that if Rice can find a team willing to sign his this late in the season he may actually get some play time in before the next Super Bowl. Back in early September an elevator surveillance video was released that showed Rice knocking his now-wife, Janay Palmer, out cold with one punch, then dragging her off the elevator. He was handed an indefinite suspension after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell seemed to barely offer up a slap on the wrist last spring. -
Kristian Alfonso Throws a Bit of Shade at the Notion of Peter Reckell Returning to 'Days of Our Lives'
Way back in the 1980s, soap operas were filled with supercouples, with one of the biggest being "Days of our Lives's" Bo and Hope Brady, played by Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso. The two quickly garnered a huge fan base that, even to this day, still rallies for them to reunite. Reckell and Alfonso returned to "Days" in the '90s and had an intertwined storyline until his character was sent packing a few years ago.Reckell has said he understood that his departure was basically making room for younger leading men and that it goes with the territory. But he has never agreed with how his character left town and believes the fans deserved better than what they got.In October, a series of tweets by Reckell led fans to think there was the possibility of him returning to "Days." He later admitted that he did make some calls to producers because he believed there was a logical reason to bring him back onto the canvas. In a recent interview, Alfonso could not have agreed any less and thought that bringing the character of Bo back just to allow Hope to move on was ridiculous. -
Soap Star Alison Sweeney Pens Goodbye Letter to 'Days of our Lives' Fans
Alison Sweeney is a household name to any fan of daytime television. You don't have to be a Days of our Lives fan to appreciate the fact that she signed a contract with the show when she was barely old enough to drive and now, 22 years later she has finally decided to put her character of Sami Brady to rest, for now. While Sweeney actually filmed her final scenes last spring, her character was still onscreen until this past week when Sami and her kids left Salem for the bright lights of Hollywood. Fans of the actress are crushed to see her leave and as it turns out, the fan in Sweeney is going to miss Sami a lot too. -

New Mom Savannah Guthrie Returns To 'Today Show' Anchor Seat On Nov. 3
NBC News has been having a rough week, especially after confirmation came that chief medical correspondent, Dr. Nancy Snyderman and her crew had violated a voluntary quarantine after returning from Liberia. One of the cameramen in her group is currently being treated in a Nebraska hospital for the Ebola Virus and after agreeing to stay out of public places for 21 days, Snyderman and a few others were spotted making a food run in spite of potentially carrying the deadly virus. Her blame-passing apology hasn't helped the network either, leaving them in dire need of good news or at least something positive. Luckily, it has been confirmed that Savannah Guthrie will be returning to her Today Show anchor seat on Nov. 3. -
Jacqueline Laurita Returns To 'The Real Housewives Of New Jersey' After Being Fired Earlier In The Season And She Is Ready To Deal With Teresa Giudice
Last night was absolutely huge for long time fans of The Real Housewives Of New Jersey because beloved cast member, Jacqueline Laurita returned to the fold. Bravo decided to ax the star before the currently airing season began filming in favor of adding her estranged sister-in-law, Dina Manzo, to the roster. After the ratings continued to sink each week the network got smart and decided to bring Laurita back even for just a few episodes. This move makes fans anywhere happy because quite frankly she is the only 'housewife' that is even remotely relatable.
