First, Bruno Mars rocked as a little bird in Rio 2 but soon he's going to rock out for "Rio" in a different way. Today (Oct. 28), it was announced that the "Young Girls" singer has joined the Rock in Rio USA.

According to Billboard, Mars is just one of three new performers added to the inaugural U.S. edition of Rock in Rio. The pop megastar will now perform at the two-weekend festival alongside "Don't" singer Ed Sheeran and jazz star Joss Stone.

Mars, Sheeran and Stone join previously announced acts Taylor Swift, No Doubt, Linkin Park and Metallica. John Legend and Deftones are also slated to perform.

No Doubt, Metallica, Linkin Park and Deftones are set to play May 8 and 9, 2015, during the "rock weekend" with Sheeran, Mars, Swift, Legend and Stone set to play May 15 and 16 for the "pop weekend."

More artists are also set to be announced. The Rock in Rio website seems to indicate that at least 22 acts will still be named before the festival kicks off.

Rock in Rio 2015 will take place over May 8-9 and 15-16 in Las Vegas at a 37-acre open air venue near the famous Vegas Strip. Tickets are expected to go on sale in January, though fans can reserve tickets now (which will allow them to be notified when the next pre-sale occurs).
