Nicole Kidman was obviously in a rough place after her father passed away in September, but it helped to have her husband — country star Keith Urban — available to offer support.

"He has been so good to me for nine years, but for the last month, which has been a really tough time for me, when you have your partner just literally carry you through a tough time ... he's been amazing to me," Kidman told Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday. "To have my husband just step up in that way, it makes me cry. He's amazing.

"Well go through terrible things at different times in our lives. But to be literally carried by your partner - physically at times, because I was so devastated - it's just like, I'll do anything for that man."

She's also gotten a lot of help from fans.

"I've realized we don't talk about it enough, in terms of our society" Kidman said. "Because at some point in our lives, we're gonna go through - everybody loses their parents, and it's awful. I'm sorry to bring everybody down, but I'm trying to navigate through something right now, and I'm amazed when people reach out. It's an awkward thing at times, but to have people go, 'I'm so sorry for your loss' ... the power of that, or even a note or anything. I've gotten so much love from people."

Urban was scheduled for a gig at the Washington State Fair when the news broke, so he was forced to reschedule for Sept. 19, 2015.

A statement from the Fair's website read thusly:

The Washington State Fair has received notification from Keith Urban's management that his concert date on Saturday, Sept. 13 will be canceled due to the untimely death of his father-in-law. The Fair sends its condolences to both Keith Urban and his wife, Nicole Kidman.

Urban also released a new single, "Somewhere In My Car," last month.
