Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift's mutual admiration has been well documented this year. First the "Shake It Off" songstress danced awkwardly at the 2014 Grammy's to Lamar's "m.A.A.d city"/ "Radioactive" mash-up performance with Imagine Dragons, then she told Rolling Stone in her cover story that Lamar's "Backseat Freestyle" is her preferred method of relieving stress.

Fast forward to this week. Lamar sang along to a bit of "Shake It Off" during an interview, and Swift celebrated her record-breaking album sales by lip-syncing the "Goddamn I feel amazing, damn I'm in the matrix / My mind is living on cloud nine and this 9 is never on vacation / Start up that Maserati and vroom-vroom, I'm racing" line from "Backseat Freestyle."

Lamar then repaid the compliment with a freestyle over "Shake It Off." During his appearance on Dallas station K104, he was asked to freestyle over the song's beat — which isn't the easiest beat to flow with — and was given the prompt of "white girls" to begin his performance.

"K. Dot you know that he's hot I can do rhythm, hip-hop, I can do pop," he raps, adding lines about positivity, good energy, and being accepting all types of people as well as shout outs to the DJs on the show.

Back when Lamar first heard about Swift's admiration for his music, he told the Associated Press, "Some people always try to lock it down and categorize it for one particular listener," he said. "But it moves all, even people from other genres. ...I appreciate Taylor Swift for supporting not only my music but just the hip-hop culture. There's really no gap. It's music, and it feels good."

Now that these two have clearly proven their interest in each other's music, maybe we will get a collaboration from them eventually. It wouldn't be the first time Lamar has hopped on a verse with a singer-songwriter. In 2012, he joined ZZ Ward for a verse on her track "Crying Wolf."
