Would you pay top dollar to see Britney Spears perform at a residency in Las Vegas? What if you knew that the pop star would be lip-syncing the entire thing? The famous anonymous source of the New York Daily News has alleged that a series of dates Spears has planned in Vegas will feature false vocals by design.

It wouldn't be the most shocking of revelations regarding Spears. An Australian concert ended early during 2009 when t became obvious that the songstress was just going through the motions. The News' source seems to think that Spears hasn't actually vocalized in years, including her most recent stints in the recording studio.

"Britney does not sing. She is being paid a lot of money to lip-sync," the source said. "Her fans are none the wiser, but it is disingenuous of her to take their cash and not deliver a proper performance."

Revisiting the "would you pay for it" question, Spears not singing wouldn't be entirely out of line with standard Vegas practices. The Cirque de Soleil performance "ONE," a musical tribute to Michael Jackson, doesn't feature any real vocals either. And, like the the Cirque show, Spears' gig will probably involve an elaborate stage show. Britney's people gave a response to the claims indicating that Spears would most certainly be handling the vocals.

The show, scheduled for 16 dates at the moment, followed by 50 concerts across 2014-'15, will reportedly consist of Spears cramming 21 hits into a 90-minute span. The venue will come equipped with a dance floor and bottle-service to emulate a nightclub atmosphere. Spears will reportedly make $15 million yearly for her services.

We hope she really sings for it, because as she told us last week, if "you want a Bugatti, you better work b----."
