Dave Grohl swore off drugs when he turned 20, but recently he decided to smoke a little weed to help with his insomnia. The Foo Fighters frontman's high was unfortunately interrupted by a famous TV family — the Kardashians. Sweet dreams were slim to none after that.

"I'd put the kids to bed, go upstairs and smoke a bit of pot," he told the Sun. "But then I'd get stuck in front of the Kardashians on TV for 45 minutes. And it freaked me out. I was like, 'I'm never doing this ever again. It's definitely not for me.'"

So, oddly enough, it seems like Grohl owes Kim and her family a thank you of sorts since the artist has long been the antithesis of the stereotypical rock star in regards to drugs. "I have never done cocaine, ever in my life," he said in 2008. "I have never done heroin, I have never done speed."

That mentality seems to stem from his friendship with former Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain, who struggled with addiction openly throughout his lifetime. In 2009, Grohl appeared in an anti-drug video for the BBC, saying, "I've seen people die. It ain't easy being young, but that stuff doesn't make it any easier."

The Foos, coming off the successful release of their new album, Sonic Highways, recently announced a huge tour for 2015. They'll kick things off in Washington, D.C., on July 4 and wrap the trek up in Memphis, Tennessee next October. Check out the full schedule here.

Sonic Highways came out earlier this month to generally positive reviews.

"It seems that with each album they put out I feel the same way: it's typically a good album but I'm most likely going to skip over some tracks to get to the gems," Kyle Dowling wrote for Music Times. "With that said, I think the work put into Sonic Highways helps me respect it even more than other albums. There are undoubtedly some killer tracks on here, but I'll end by saying that it's pretty consistent with what I've been feeling about the band for some years now."
