Jennifer Lawrence, pop star?

While that title will likely never become reality, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay actor recently showed off her pipes in theaters with "The Hanging Tree."

Now, that track has reached No. 29 on the UK chart, according to Billboard.

Lawrence has long denounced her singing abilities.

"I was pretty negative," she told MTV in 2012 about 'Rue's Lullaby,' a song her character, Katniss, sang in the first Hunger Games flick. "I think everybody's being like 'Oh my god! Jennifer's coming out with a new album! She's on the album on a single.' And I don't know; I'm not a singer."

She also failed at whistling.

"That was all fake 'cause apparently I'm a bad whistler," she said. "I didn't know. I was like 'Yeah, yeah. Cool, cool, cool,' and then we started whistling and [director] Gary Ross was [like] 'God, you suck at whistling. Just do this, [purse] with your lips and don't actually whistle'."

The 24-year-old Silver Linings Playbook star made headlines earlier this year when a collection of her nude photographs leaked to the public.

"Just because I'm a public figure, just because I'm an actress, does not mean that I asked for this," she said. "It does not mean that it comes with the territory. It's my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can't believe that we even live in that kind of world."

As previously reported, she hated the word "scandal," because she believes the violation should be referred to nothing less than criminal.

"It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting," she says. "The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That's why these websites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody's mind is to make a profit from it."
