Yesterday we reported on the theoretical "battle" between Coachella and Governors Ball—the two festivals announced their respective lineups less than a day apart from each other—in terms of lineups but it's clear which still has the most fan appeal. Coachella put tickets up for sale the same day as its lineup announcement and both weekends for the event sold out within 40 minutes, setting a record for the event that typically unloads all of its passes in stupid amounts of time anyhow.

Lineups aside, Coachella has to be considered the most popular music festival in the United States thanks to the unreal times in which it moves passes, comparable only to Glastonbury. Last year's event featured attendance from 579,000 ticket holders over three days. The 2015 three-day passes were priced at a minimum of $375 (plus more for more deluxe packages) so divide last year's attendance number by three and multiply it and multiply that by charge of admission and you get an idea how much money GoldenVoice makes off this event alone.

The lineup, as usual, makes up for the high cost of admission (although admittedly the popularity of the show comes as a result of all the celebrities in attendance and Coachella being the it-festival): AC/DC, Drake and Jack White are the noted headliners, while Tame Impala, The Weeknd, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Florence + The Machine and St. Vincent are acts accented by the lineup sheet.

Other noteworthy acts appearing include: Azealia Banks, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, Lykke Li, FKA Twigs, Tyler The Creator, the War on Drugs, Marina and The Diamonds, David Guetta and Ryan Adams. Notable sets include Ride and Drive Like Jehu, a shoegaze and hardcore act respectively, who will be performing some of their first sets since the '90s. French DJ Gesaffelstein also declared yesterday that his Coachella set would be his final live gig.
