Perhaps you witnessed one of television's all-time awkward moments last week when Nicole Kidman stopped by The Tonight Show to say hello to Jimmy Fallon. The two had met once before, but had drastically different memories of the encounter. Fallon didn't remember much at all, but Kidman remembered having a crush on the late-night host.

"I just remember I liked you," she told Fallon, who promptly lost his cool and sputtered out "what?" several times.

"I'm single, and I'm like, 'Yeah, cool,'" Kidman said (via Taste of Country). "So I go over, and you're there in a baseball cap, and you wouldn't talk - you didn't say anything. And then you put a video game on or something, and I'm like, 'This is so bad.'"

Fallon was mortified, and attempted to push the conversation toward Kidman's husband, Keith Urban, and her new movie, Paddington. But Kidman insisted on rehashing the story.

"After about an hour and a half, I thought, 'He has no interest - this is so embarrassing,'" Kidman said. "And then I left, and went, 'Okay, no chemistry - and then I was like, 'Maybe he's gay!'"

At this point, Fallon was about to burst into tears. The whole thing is worth a look if you haven't seen it yet.

The Fallon/Kidman romance that never materialized became a hot topic of discussion over the weekend, and Kidman told Extra that Urban already knew the story. Well, most of it, anyway.

"He knew the story, because we watch Fallon," she said. "He knew the story, but I don't think he knew it in that detail. But it was fun. I'm so glad Jimmy was so good-natured about it. He was laughing, but I think he was pretty shocked."
