J. Cole is reportedly engaged to his longtime girlfriend Melissa Heholt, HotNewHipHop reports. The Fayetteville, North Carolina rapper hasn't spoken much about their relationship in the media, but the two reportedly first met when attending St. John's University in Queens, New York, and have been together throughout his ascent to fame. Cole reportedly gave her four-carat diamond ring.

This isn't the first time the two have been rumored to be engaged, according to HotNewHipHop. Back in 2010, rumors circulated that he had proposed, and in 2013, their university tweeted a congratulations on their engagement, but now more evidence suggests that the news real this time around.

Heholt, who works as a successful wedding planner in New York City, was recently photographed at a high-end bridal store in NYC called L'Fay Bridal. The store posted a photo on Instagram of Heholt in front of bride's dresses with the caption, "Congratulations to our newest bride #weddingdress #lfaybridal #nycbride call us for your appointment in our new location." The image has since been taken down, presumably to protect the couple's privacy.

The couple have also reportedly set a date for their nuptials.

Last year, Cole spoke to HipHopCanada (via DreamvilleNation) about being with the same woman for so many years while coming up in the game.

"I feel like relationships are a beautiful thing, period," he told them. "Marriage is just a relationship to me. In my experience, when you've been in a relationship for as long as I've been in one, there's no real difference. It's just a piece of paper that validates what was already real. ...In marriage you got to go through the same struggles as a relationship, that's if the relationship is real, because there's a lot of non-real relationships going on in the world right now. And I think that's just because of the day and age we're in, a lot of these relationships are taking place over text messages, it's not real substance. But when you got a real one, it's already like a marriage."

Cole released his third studio album 2014 Forest Hills Drive last month. It has since been certified Gold after peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Earlier this week, he was featured on Jeremih's track "Planes."

If the news is true, then congrats to the happy couple!
