Kanye West received the Visionary Award last night (Jan. 24) at this year's BET Honors ceremony. Dame Dash, who had some words for Yeezy back in July, introduced the rapper and presented him with the award. There was no bad blood to be had at the event, Vibe points out, and West accepted the award with a dynamite speech. Jay Z, Common, Kendrick Lamar and West's wife, Kim Kardashian, paid tribute to the artist in a video montage.

In typical West fashion, he was aggressively inspiring during his speech while sneaking in a joke about his wife. The show will air Feb. 29 on BET, so all we have now to go on are some social media videos and tweets about the speech.

"They say white girls go out and get a rich black dude. But my wife dated broke black dudes. So it's not about the money," he joked before talking about how to handle creativity.

"You can't be the kid in the back of the classroom with black nail polish. U have to smack the sh*t out of people with your creativity," he told the crowd.

Dash called West out on Shade 45 a few months ago for not supporting Roc-A-Fella co-founder Kareem "Biggs" Burke after he was sentenced to prison.

"Biggs was the one that was like, 'Yo Dame, pay attention to what Kanye is doing. Make sure you send him that music.' And no one's reaching back," he said. "Certain n*ggas have, that's why I'm not calling everybody out, but Kanye hasn't. And he hasn't check on his kids, he hasn't check on his family, no trial, none of that. And the sh*t I'm hearing him complain about is irrelevant based on the fact that he doesn't look back to the people that helped him."
