Jimmy Fallon gave '90s kids everywhere a huge gift last night, Feb. 2, when he aired a spot-on recreation of the opening credits of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The hilarious cold opening was done in honor of The Tonight Show moving to Los Angeles for a week of West Coast hijinks. DJ Jazzy Jeff and Alfonso Ribeiro make cameos in the skit alongside Tonight Show staples The Roots and Steve Higgins. Unfortunately, the Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith, did not make an appearance in the clip, Rolling Stone noted.

Fallon's story is all about how he "brought The Tonight Show back out to L.A." The "Fresh Host of Tonight" is draped from head to toe in vintage '90s gear as he explains why the late-night talk show is being broadcast from the West Coast this week. As he plays basketball with members of The Roots, he raps that a few guys were getting too cold in New York and Higgins added, in full drag like the Fresh Prince's mother, "It's time to take The Tonight Show out to sunny L.A."

Questlove, Tariq "Black Though" Trotter and Fallon start doing the Carlton when the man behind the character (Ribeiro) joins in with a few shimmies and shakes. Fallon then takes a cab from New York City to L.A. with DJ Jazzy Jeff behind the wheel. "Based on the comedy of Lorne Michaels," the screen reads before coming to an end. Check out the spectacular parody below.

Fans upset about the lack of Smith can tune in to The Tonight Show Thursday, Feb. 5, when the actor is scheduled to stop by as a guest. Perhaps Fallon and Co. have a continuation planned for the real Fresh Prince's appearance. Kobe Bryant, Jennifer Lopez, Ellen DeGeneres, Carl Reiner and Neil Young are billed as this week's guests. Jack White will join Smith Thursday.

Be sure to check out Fallon's recent Lip Sync Battle against Kevin Hart and the incredible Will Ferrell.
