A star-studded lineup showed up at the MusiCares Person of the Year ceremony Friday night, Feb. 6, to pay tribute to Bob Dylan. Bruce Springsteen, Beck and Jack White paid tribute by performing renditions of some of the folk legend's classic tunes before Dylan himself gave a speech filled with attitude. He thanked famous musicians who covered his songs in the past -- like Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash and Nina Simone -- while telling off critics like Lieber & Stoller and Merle Haggard. Unfortunately for fans, Dylan did not perform.

According to Rolling Stone, Beck took on "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat" before Springsteen and Tom Morello tore through "Knockin' on Heaven's Door." White offered "One More Cup of Coffee (Valley Below)" and John Mellencamp performed "Highway 61 Revisited." Garth Brooks recorded "Make You Feel My Live" at a show in Pittsburgh while Paul McCartney, Jeff Bridges and Martin Scorsese all offered taped congratulations.

Neil Young closed out the night with "Blowin' in the Wind." Check out the list of performers below.

Dylan explained during his speech that he learned his craft by listening to folk songs continuously for a few years. He mentioned talent scout John Hammond, who signed him to Columbia Records when he was "a nobody." The singer went on to thank Hendrix, Cash and the Staple Singers for doing his songs justice.

The legend did manage to take a few shots at some others.

"I didn't really care what Leiber & Stoller thought of my songs. That was all right they didn't like them. 'Cause I didn't like their songs, either," he said, adding that he would rather have Buck Owens's blessing than Haggard's.
