Finally, after what seems like an eternity of build-up, Fifty Shades of Grey is set to premiere in theaters this week. You know what that means, right? Tons of press and publicity for Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who star as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation, as if the year or so leading up to it has not had enough already. While women everywhere might be planning to high-tail it to theaters this weekend, there is one person who will not be seeing this film ever. That would be Melanie Griffith, Johnson's mother.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Griffith explained why, in spite of supporting her daughter, seeing Fifty Shades of Grey is just out of the question.

"She would be very uncomfortable if I saw it, and I would be very uncomfortable if I saw it. So we would never be able to talk about it, so why would I see it? I was so happy for her when she called me. She said, 'Well, I just got Fifty Shades of Grey!' I was like, 'Oh, my God!'" explained Griffith.

Can you imagine how awkward it would be for Johnson if her mother went to see the film? Plus, we are betting that no mother really wants to see their daughter tied up on camera in that infamous red room. Speaking of, we have been hearing that the ending of the film adaptation caused a bit of an argument between the powers-that-be. Some wanted the film to end with one word, red, which is the safe word used by Christian and Ana during their play sessions.

Instead, the decision was made to use the word stop instead because it insinuates a new beginning which we now know Fifty Shades of Grey will be getting in the form of two sequels. Will you be heading out to check this film out or are you with Griffith in thinking that there is no way that you can sit through it? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
