In a very unlikely but beautiful case of chance, Carlos Santana reunited with former bandmate from the late sixties and now homeless man, Marcus Malone. The meeting was as a result of San Francisco reporter for KRON-TV, Stanley Roberts, who just happened to meet and interview Malone while investigating a story about illegal garbage dumping.

While he was interviewing Malone about the separate case, Malone apparently went into his backstory and shared that he played percussion with the Santana Blues Band. He even mentioned that they rehearsed in his mother's garage. Coming from a homeless man on the street, Roberts was skeptical, but he decided to go ahead and do some research and find out if this was in fact the case. Turns out, it was.

Remarkably, Santana was in the process of trying to track down Malone at the same time. Santana's management contacted Roberts through facebook and organized a time and place for the two bandmates to meet. The last time they saw each other was in 1969 when Malone was imprisoned for manslaughter, according to Mashable.

The result is a completely emotional and inspiring moment between the two.
"You don't know how afraid I am to let you see me," said Malone as he embraced Santana.

"We cherish you. It's an honor to be in your presence," Santana replied. ""You and your family were always so gracious to us," he says. "Your mom is in my heart and your heart, and she's watching out for both of us."

In an interview with CNN on Sunday, Santana said he plans to help Malone get back on his feet and bring the original members of the Santana Blues Band together, including Marcus.

"We wrote a song for him called 'Magnificent Marcus Malone.' We want him to play on it," said Santana.
