The last year has been a time of complete turmoil for ABC's The View. Between revolving cast members, Barbara Walters leaving and the epic fights between Rosie O'Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg it has hardly been a great environment to work in. While O'Donnell deciding to quit only six months into her contract may have eased some of the obvious tension, it certainly has not fixed anything and you are hard-pressed to find anyone with something good to say about the once-great daily roundtable show. Mario Cantone often sits in as a regular guest on the show and seems to be one of the few people who still loves chatting with the ladies.

When asked about the possibility about signing on to become a regular co-host, Cantone told Page Six exclusively, "I do a lot of different things for them, and I have a great relationship with them. A full-time job? I don't know. I don't know what they're gonna do ... They don't tell anybody anything. I go in and just have a great time. I've been through every cast, and I love them."

It is obvious that one person is not going to save the show from cancellation or else O'Donnell would likely have done it. Plus, the problems run deeper than the on-air talent. Last week, we learned that Jennifer Shepard-Brookman, a senior producer with The View for eight years, had been fired after having a screaming match with O'Donnell last month.

Do you think Cantone would even consider doing the show full-time or was his answer basically a side step because even he knows better than to sign on for what is pretty clearly a slowly sinking ship? Do you think the show will be canceled after the current season? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
