Kanye West has been a busy man on Twitter today. If you finished sifting through the random nudes he uploaded of his wife Kim Kardashian, hilariously captioned "SWISH!!!!!!" then you would have seen his latest update announcing that the "All Day" rapper is going to be headlining the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on Saturday night. The announcement was confirmed by Glastonbury on their website.

Surprisingly for an artist who has been as large as Kanye over the past decade, this is the first time he will appear at the historic U.K. festival. He joins the two previously announced acts, The Foo Fighters who will headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday and legacy headliner Lionel Richie, who will play Sunday during teatime.

Though its tradition is rooted in rock, Glastonbury has set the stage for some memorable hip-hop performances, notably Jay Z in 2008 who opened up his headlining set with "Wonderwall" after taking fire from Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher who claimed that a hip-hop artist shouldn't headline Glasto.

The headlining set comes right when Kanye West is gearing up to release his upcoming studio album So Help Me God. No release date has been set as of yet for the album, but he has already unveiled several tracks from it including "Only One" with Paul McCartney, "FourFiveSeconds" with Sir Paul and Rihanna and "All Day." This performance would be the perfect opportunity to bring out McCartney to perform alongside Kanye if his schedule permits.
