Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hear "California Love" on a massive New York stage? Well, now you're in luck because the music of late, great rapper Tupac Shakur is heading to Broadway.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new musical Holler Is Ya Hear Me featuring the music of Tupac is set to debut on New York's most famous street this spring. The musical is named after one of the rapper's

The musical is not a biography of Tupac, but uses his music and poetry to tell a story "about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope" in the inner city, according to the play's official website.

Casting has yet to be announced for Holler, but the musical will be directed by Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun). Alongside some of Broadway's greats, Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur is a producer on the project.

Holler If Ya Hear Me will have a soft opening on May 26 with an official opening on June 19. The musical is set to debut at the Palace Theatre, one of Broadway's biggest musical venues.

Hip-hop and Broadway musicals aren't typically seen as something that go hand in hand, but those working on the show hope the Tupac-inspired musical will be a draw to African-American audiences.

Tickets have yet to go on sale, but fans can be alerted when they do on hollerifyahearme.com.
