This November we had an inkling that Christine McVie would eventually rejoin Fleetwood Mac. Mick Fleetwood recently performed with Willie K at "Uncle Willie K's BBQ Blues Fest on Maui" at the Tropical Plantation. Fleetwood Mac News reports a fan hearing Fleetwood say: "This is the worst kept secret there is, but Christine McVie will be rejoining Fleetwood Mac!"
It is a bad secret, but a good one, fans will agree. Music Times reported that McVie has been very open about rejoining, saying in an interview with The Guardian: "If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted...but it hasn't happened so we'll have to wait and see."
Stevie Nicks addressed this in a Billboard interview, saying it was completely up to McView if she wanted "to take this on again." Nicks concluded with, "I don't know what she'll do. Story to come. To be continued." Well now the story continues with news that it's official, McVie wants back in, and she's in.
McView played in Maui last February 2013 with Mick Fleetwood and bassist/former husband John McVie (Mick Fleetwood Blues Band). Then she played again in a London show in September, for an almost-Fleetwood Mac reunion of sorts. In October 2013 John McVie's Facebook page announced he would be going through cancer treatment. Multiple news sources report Stevie Nicks saying she believes he will be fine.
Formed in 1967, the British-American band has been through a lot professionally and personally through these decades. But the latest news shows this doesn't seem to be stopping them.
