The Voice season eight live rounds got off to a super sweet start last night (April 6). Before Team Pharrell and Team Blake took to the stage to perform for America's vote, coach Adam Levine was joined by his band Maroon 5 to show the contestants how it is done with their new hit single "Sugar."

Wearing one of his signature wildly patterned dress shirts, Levine commanded the stage while serenading his fellow coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams. Some of the highest notes seemed to be a bit of a struggle for the high reaching frontman, but the energy was there.

Hey, if he were competing for the title of "The Voice," he sure would have our vote!

"Sugar" is the third official single from Maroon 5's new album V. The track is the band's biggest hit from its fifth studio album to date, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
