Katy Perry is seeing her popularity rise with the beginning of 2014, as her single "Dark Horse" rose to the top of the Digital Downloads charts last week and her album PRISM has risen on the Billboard 200 accordingly. The pop star is taking advantage of the situation and launching the "Prismatic" tour to build off that success. Dates won't actually begin until June, but she might as well build off the hype.

Tegan and Sara, Capital Cities, and Kacey Musgraves will serve as the opening acts, each taking a different leg of the tour. Capital Cities mustered some pop-rock publicity during 2013 with hits such as "Safe and Sound," and Tegan and Sara gathered critical acclaim last year for its album Heartthrob. Musgraves might be the most surprising name on the list, as a country artist that ruffled mainstream feathers with her edgy feathers opening for the current queen of sugary pop. Musgraves told Billboard the pair were mutual fans however.
