Since before her debut album even released, Kacey Musgraves was fascinating fans with her talent and charm. While most people know the major facts about the young artist (she was born in Texas, finished in seventh place on the fifth season of Nashville Star and co-wrote Miranda Lambert's hit song, "Mama's Broken Heart"), these are some things about Kacey Musgraves that you may not know...

  1. When Musgraves was only 8 years old, she sang in public for the first time at a local church. One year later, she wrote her first song, a tune titled "Notice Me."
  2. At 14, she performed at the 2002 Winter Olympics.
  3. Katy Perry called Kacey's tune, "Merry Go ’Round," "one the most uniquely honest written songs of 2012."
  4. In 2013, Kacey was nominated for the ACM for Female Vocalist of the Year. She had not yet released an album nationally and her single had not made it into the Top 10 charts.
  5. Kacey's best friend is Kree Harrison (of American Idol fame).
  6. Her favorite "bad for you" foods are: Jack-In-The-Box egg rolls, beer and pizza.
  7. Kacey went hunting for Bigfoot deep in the woods of East Texas with the crew of www.searchingforbigfoot.com. They didn't find him.
