Some may want to credit Big Machine's Scott Borchetta for discovering Taylor Swift. Some may want to commend the "Bad Blood" singer's own drive. But, well, maybe you should credit Jason Alexander. The former Seinfeld actor jokingly took credit for the 1989 singer's superstar status in a new interview.

"Not only am I a Swift fan, I put her in her first video," Alexander told TMZ. "It wasn't her video, it was a Brad Paisley video. Go look at a Brad Paisley video 'Online,' which I directed. There are two young ladies on stage with him. One of them is Kellie Pickler, the other is an underage Taylor Swift."

Indeed, Swift appears in "Online," singing on stage with Pickler, Alexander and Paisley in a fantasy sequence. The music video was released in 2007, after Swift's self-titled debut album dropped but before she really broke through into the mainstream.

Then, in typical funnyman fashion, Alexander takes all credit for Swift's big career, and well, you can't totally blame him.
