Lil Wayne has been beefing all over the place recently but it got out of hand when he tried to get in the face of a referee at a charity celebrity basketball game in St. Louis over the weekend. Weezy was in town for the fourth annual LooseCannon Celebrity Basketball game, hosted by local rapper SLIM, when he apparently got irked at the calls being made in, again, a celebrity basketball game (from AllHipHop.com).

The game was held at Chaifetz Arena and wasn't broadcast for a television audience. However, the fans in attendance captured footage of Wayne trying to get to a ref, while being held back by his teammates and others. Fans in the near vicinity can be heard asking "is he mad for real?"

He was mad for real. The performer is becoming noted for his competitive nature and temper, even in totally laid-back celebrity games. During 2013 he began cursing at a cameraman at the DirecTV Beach Bowl, a star-studded flag football game held alongside the Super Bowl every year. At least that event was mainly a promotional tool used by DirecTV, but SLIM's game is a charity event, hosted to raise funds for the Put Down The Pistol campaign, a St. Louis initiative that works to prevent violence and improve youth culture.

What's odd is that the video seems to suggest that Wayne wasn't even playing in the game. The teams were staged as SLIM's LooseCannon vs. Lil Wayne's Young Money," and in context it looks like Weezy was coaching his squad...dressed in a grey T-shit and baseball hat versus in his team's red jerseys. So he wasn't getting mad that he himself was getting called for cheap fouls...he was mad that his squad was.

Maybe there was a side bet going on between the two emcees/coaches?

Either way, we're just glad that Kevin Hart keeps it in check every time he shows up for the NBA's All Star Game weekend celeb game.
