After bursting into a foul-mouthed tirade about the concert stewards preventing fans from waving their arms to the music, Elton John apologized to one steward in particular. During his Gloucester, U.K. gig on Sunday, the "Tiny Dancer" singer went on a profanity-ridden rant, comparing one steward to Hitler and eventually making her cry.

The 68-year-old musician was offended upon seeing the stewards halt a section of concert-goers from waving their arms in the air. "I came here to play music, now all you stewards down there, especially the woman in the [expletive] ponytail, [expletive] lighten up, will you?" he said in front of thousands of fans, notes Time.

A group of fans who paid for cheaper seats moved to the front of the venue to stand, potentially blocking the view of those who paid for higher priced tickets, reports BBC. The entire show was meant to be seated.

"These people have come to hear music and if they want to put their hands in the air, let them. This is not [expletive] China, so [expletive] off."

The outburst was captured on film and posted to social media where it quickly spread. The steward was seen walking off the stage as she burst into tears. Elton John realized his mistake and apologized to the steward, bringing her back on stage for a hug.

"It's not good enough to say that. Whoever told the stewards to be that strict, that's their fault and not hers, and I apologize," he said.

Hailing from Tewkesbury, one concert attendee named Steven Ward said: "This [concert] was seated, there were disabled people who were sat on our aisle who couldn't see, obviously they couldn't stand up to see the stage." He continued, "There were people fighting to get a view of what they were trying to look at and, for some reason, the stewards brought out barriers to try and stop people, but that made them worse because they congregated by the barrier."

Mike Turner, Gloucester Rugby's commercial manager, explained that the stewards did the best that they could to keep the concert running smoothly while a Marshall Arts spokesperson chose not to comment on the stewarding.
