The saga between Lil Wayne and Birdman had gone cold in recent weeks, but there appears to be a fresh development in the lawsuit that is tearing apart the hip-hop powerhouse label that has been so influential over the past two decades. According to new documents filed by Weezy, obtained by TMZ, the "Sorry For The Wait 2" rapper is claiming that Drake and Nicki Minaj are about to leave YMCMB as a result of Birdman's mismanagement of the label.

The new documents allege that Birdman has failed to pay artists the money they are owed and that as a result, the two biggest whales left in the Young Money camp are likely to jump ship to a better-run label.

This news isn't that surprising given what we know about the lawsuit thus far and what details have emerged from all four parties. If You're Reading This It's Too Late was originally going to be a free project but he instead released it on Spotify, to the surprise of many at the label, so it could count towards his number of albums on Young Money. Nicki has been the quietest publicly on the situation thus far, but that does not mean her team isn't maneuvering behind the scenes.

Lil Wayne's $51 million lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money laid out all of the alleged misdeeds that the label boss had been doing over the past several years. Among those was withholding profits and royalties from the artists on Young Money, including Drake and Minaj - two of the labels biggest moneymakers.

The situation appears to have deteriorated since then and it could be dire for Drake, who has been a king on Spotify with If You're Reading This It's Too Late. If that money isn't coming in, then it is understandable why he wants out.
