"Song Of The Summer" is a title thrown around rather loosely to songs like "anthem" or banger. There are many tracks that aspire to be a soundtrack to the summer, but few actually manage to be that song. In the past couple of years we have had tunes like "Blurred Lines," "Fancy," "Call Me Maybe" and "Party Rock Anthem" dominate the summer airwaves. Now Spotify is using its vast user base, data pool and curation ability to make their case for 2015's "song of the summer" with a playlist of the 25 tracks that are set to dominate this season's playlists.

Many pundits may choose one of the major pop stars who have put out recent singles like Pitbull & Chris Brown's "Fun," The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" or Jason Derulo's "Want To Want Me," but instead Spotify went across the pond for one of the more unlikely collaborations we have seen recently. The Swedish streaming service tabbed Jamie xx's collaboration with Atlanta rapper Young Thug and Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan "I know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)" as it's number one selection, followed by that fast rising Max Martin-produced The Weeknd single "Can't Feel My Face."

Heading further down the list is the aptly titled "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like A Motherf**ker" from Maroon 5, which was just brought to the EDM festival main stage by Alesso. Hip-hop has several selections from Rick Homie Quan's "Flex," Nicki Minaj's "The Night Is Still Young" and the pop-rap collaboration between Sage The Gemini and Nick Jonas "Good Thing."

The majority of the songs are pop or electronic, representing the convergence of the two genres and how they have become synonymous with summer. Picks like Kygo's "Stole The Show" and Felix Jaehn's remix of Omi "Cheerleader" are obvious selections for summer hits. See the full playlist from Spotify below and load up for this Fourth.
