Typically, when the election cycle kicks into gear, musicians are the ones endorsing politicians. And while everyone from Katy Perry to Ariana Grande have thrown their support behind Hillary Clinton, the Democratic frontrunner is throwing her support behind one pop act: One Direction and its charity initiative Action/1D.

Earlier this week, the "Night Changes" band announced its partnership with Action/2015 and encouraged its fans to speak out and let world leaders know what issues they're passionate about before two global summits this September and December. And it seems as though Clinton approves of the Brits' new charitable venture; she tweeted support for Action/1D out to her 3.8 million followers yesterday (July 9).

The endorsement is sure to go over well for Clinton in the Directioner demographic. And while fans of 1D are likely to be a little too young to vote in 2016, there's surely power behind them (not to mention their parents).

With Action/1D, One Direction is asking its fans to make videos and take photos stating what they want the world to look like in the next 15 years before global leaders meet at two summits this fall. On Wednesday (July 8), the band announced the initiative with a YouTube video and purpose.

"2015 is a year like no other, and we're looking to you to really make it count. You guys are truly amazing and over the years, you've shown us what you can really achieve if you rally together," Harry Styles said in the clip, before his bandmates encouraged fans to take action. "At two historic summits in September and December, world leaders will make decisions that affect important human issues like extreme poverty, inequality and climate change."
