After a series of delays and a current stint in rehab, Chris Brown's sixth studio album X has finally received a new release date. Over the weekend, Brown took to his official Twitter account to announce his follow-up to 2012's Fortune will be released on May 5.

"'X' is by far my best album yet.... Setting the date for MAY 5," he wrote on Saturday, Feb. 22.

This is at least the fourth album release date for X, according to Billboard. The record was originally due in July 2013 but was then pushed back to November and December, until Brown was ordered to rehab for anger management, making that release date non-ideal for promotional purposes. Now, it seems like Brown is ready to spring ahead with a May date.

Brown has already dropped three teaser singles over the last year, including "Fine China," the Aaliyah-featuring "Don't Think They Know" and "Love More," featuring Nicki Minaj.

Other reported featured artists include Timbaland, Lil Wayne, Danja, Diplo and more.

Though a release date for X seems like good news for Breezy's fans, there's also an unfortunate bit of information for them: it could be his last-ever effort. In August, Brown announced he may be leaving music after the release of X. "Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album."
