John Green's movies have been known to make some unorthodox casting choices, with model Cara Delevigne starring in the new film adaptation of Paper Towns. But, don't expect Taylor Swift to star in the Looking for Alaska movie. After the popular YA author joked that the "Bad Blood" singer should play every role in his next movie, he's now had to clarify that, you know, it's probably not going to happen.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Green fawned over Swift (who previously cited Green as her favorite author on Twitter) saying that she could Norbit-style play every role in the upcoming Looking for Alaska movie. However, the media picked up on this juicy news and turned it into Swift possibly starring in the film as the title character Alaska Young.

Now, Green has had to clarify the rumors on Twitter, telling Seventeen magazine that he has no control over the casting in his movies. He also said that, even if he were, Swift is probably a little busy these days.

Green also edited his Twitter bio to specifically say he does not cast the movies based on his work.

It's not as though the role of Alaska in Looking for Alaska would be wholly new territory for acting - the 25-year-old singer has dived into the film world before. She previously starred in the 2010 ensemble film Valentine's Day and had a role in the 2014 film adaptation of The Giver.
