Heavy metal greats, Black Sabbath, has announced the end of its run as the dooming and unnerving group led by Ozzy Osbourne. The English band plans to wrap things up with The End farewell tour, slated to launch in January.

Sabbath has promised concerts on this tour that "surpass all previous tours with their most mesmerizing production ever." The North American string of dates kicks off in Omaha and concludes in February at New York City's own Madison Square Garden, Yahoo notes. An Australian and New Zealand leg of the farewell tour will commence in April, with more show dates to be announced next month.

The group's lineup will remain the same as it was on their reunion album, 13, boasting Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler. A drummer has yet to be announced for the tour, but it's likely that Tommy Clufetos (from Osbourne's solo group) will man the drum kit, as he's played previous tour dates. Before the LP was recorded, the band encountered bad blood with drummer Bill Ward who explained to Rolling Stone in April that he wasn't sure if he was still a band member or not.

"I wish them well, and I have no further comment," Ward told Rolling Stone in a statement concerning "The End" tour.

Last September, Osbourne told Metal Hammer that the band would record its final album and that he was hoping to start writing session with his bandmates in the beginning of 2015. "If we're going to do [it], I want to do it before I'm 70," the 66-year-old rocker said. "Time isn't on our side. So [Sharon Osbourne] made the call and came back and said, 'Yeah, the record company wants another album.' I believe Rick Rubin is going to do it with us again."

Sadly, the recent tour announcement lacks any information on a new record but it offers up plenty of opportunities to see the band peform live.
