Rita Ora and former One Direction member Zayn Malik have been spotted together in recent weeks, grabbing sushi and hanging out together, spawning plenty of dating rumors between the two. But now, in a new interview, the "Body On Me" singer dismissed any ideas that the two are anything more than work associates.

Speaking to Capital FM (via MTV UK), Ora denied that she and the newly single Malik are a pair, instead insisting that they share a work relationship and nothing more.

"Zayn, he's gorgeous, but, I just... that can't happen," Ora said candidly. "We're on the same management team, too close to that. But no, he's great."

MailOnline also confirmed that the dinner was nothing more than a meeting and certainly not a date. "They were both at a dinner organized by a member of their management team. There was a group of artists and staff from Turn First at the get together," a source said. "There is nothing going on between Rita and Zayn."

Though there's nothing romantic going on, it seems as though the two may have a musical collaboration in the works.

It's no huge surprise that a dinner between Malik and Ora would turn quickly into dating rumors as both pop stars are recently single. In recent months, Ora has been tied to everyone from A$AP Rocky to Wiz Khalifa. Malik, of course, is recently single. He broke off his longtime relationship and engagement to Little Mix's Perri Edwards earlier this summer.

Ora is currently working on her new album.
