On Monday (Sept. 21), Snoop Dogg launched a new media company website called MerryJane.com, touted by the man himself as the "Encyclopedia Of Cannabis," at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco. He's always been vocal about his marijuana use, but now he's turning it into a business venture, and enlisted fellow pro-weed celebrities like Seth Rogen and Miley Cyrus. It will feature marijuana based news stories, videos, business insight and even the an original show entitled Deflowered, which is an interview series detailing the power of Snoop's favorite plant.

Billboard reported that the MerryJane.com co-founder and media entrepreneur Ted Chung said at the conference, "There are few companies out there that have attempted to enter into the marketplace, and their download apps total and page views total are really numbers that we're going to crush within the first six months. I think the interest level and the demand is there, it's just about someone coming to the forefront like Snoop, like our other partners - including actor Seth Rogen - and providing the site and media platform that can take cannabis to the next level."

"I enjoy it for medical reasons," Snoop Dogg answered at the conference when asked about his passion for marijuana, "It is a peace situation for me. Every time I have been around it, I have seen people manifest love, peace and harmony," he said according to the Economic Times.

Snoop Dogg (The Dogfather) further elaborated on his wishes for the marijuana community according to Billboard, "There are so many people in the closet, and we are just giving them an opportunity to come out of the closet and just admit they like to smoke."

MerryJane.com is supported by advertisements and is working to connect legal shops and customers to marijuana resources, as explained in the promotional video shown at the conference. The rapper has insisted that he thinks weed will be legal in twenty other US states in the next two years. The website is scheduled to be completely finished by October, but interested parties are already able to apply for early access to the beta version.
