Flashback to Country Artist's First Tweets

Yesterday, on March 21st, Twitter turned 8 years old. On the March 21, 2006, Jack Dorsey sent the first public tweet into the world ("just setting up my twttr") and since then, the service has come a long way. In only 18 months, 500,000 users had signed up. Three years, two months and one day after debuting, Twitter had reached the first billion tweets. In November of 2013, when the service was filing the paperwork for its IPO, it said there were 232 million monthly active users, 53 million of which were in the U.S.
