Taylor Swift recently gave a talk to Grammy Pro and dropped some information on her smash album, 1989, and the process behind it, as well as admitting to tears and scarfing down In-N-Out burger after losing the coveted "Album Of The Year" award to Daft Punk when Red went head to head with their Random Access Memories, which marked a real comeback for the duo. The Grammy Pro talk was essentially a listening session and featured the Nashville Chapter and the Producers & Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy in her home base.

The loss to Daft Punk was a hot topic and was most of her inspiration to go pop. "When they announced the Album Of The Year winner," Swift said in her interview with Grammy Pro, "It was like, 'And the album of the year goes to Reeeeeeandom Access Memories, Daft Punk! And they really dragged out the 'reeee.' And for a second there, I kind of thought we had it, and we didn't."

She further said in the interview, "I remember not going to after-parties, I went home and I cried a little bit, and I got In-N-Out Burger and ate a lot," which makes sense as Swift is notoriously both ambitious and competitive in the music industry and it has clearly taken her far.

According to Billboard, Taylor Swift decided that 1989 would be purely pop music after that disappointment since she wanted to move beyond the "country" label. The talk with Grammy Pro also consisted of information about the discography behind it and her excitement at working with producer Max Martin on Red before the loss.

Stereogum reported that although 1989 was released in 2014, it can still be considered in the 2016 Grammy Awards. The site also states that the disappointing Grammy loss was a large influence for the track "Blank Space" and that she wrote the song as "a kind of a satire."
