Black Friday just got better. Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole gifted fans with new music via SoundCloud.

The two rappers decided to flip each other's beats with Kendrick rapping over Cole’s “A Tale of 2 Citiez” off 2014 Forest Hills Drive and Cole taking on Kendrick’s “Alright” off To Pimp a Butterfly. Each tweeted a link to a song from the other.

On his four minute cut, K. Dot addresses Billboard's Greatest Rappers list and its notable omission of late lyricist Tupac Shakur: "Billboard list need Tupac damn / But No. 9 makes sure he lives on, yeah!"

While both rappers have been teasing a joint project, Cole plays into the possible collaboration and hints at something to come on his remix: “But this February, bet sh*t gets scary when I f*ck around and drop [bleep].”

Back in September, a Twitter account listed under @BestOfJCole sent out a tweet with the presumed artwork from the collaborative project dubbed as Reminiscing. During a TPAB promo run earlier this year, K. Dot made it known that he would like to work on a joint album with Cole.

“Yeah, definitely. I still would love to do it,” he said. “I talked to the bro, about a little bit over a month and he’s on the tour rocking. So we’re gonna try and make something happen. They want that.”

Kendrick Lamar’s latest album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went on to go gold. Upon its release, TPAB received positive reviews. NY Daily News gave the album five stars calling it an "instant classic."

J. Cole's 2014 Forest Hills Drive was certified platinum. The feature-less project, which dropped in December 2014, boasted over 1,000,000 copies, including streaming tallies.
