After a couple years of relative quiet, Swedish dance-pop group Miike Snow have made their comeback with a rousing new single "Heart Is Full" that combines horn-filled beats with their pop-songwriting. It is the first single from their new album iii. Now the trio have unveiled the release date, tracklist and the next single from iii titled "Genghis Khan."
"Genghis Khan is more in the lane that Miike Snow fans have grown accustomed to hearing from the band after their sophomore album Happy To You. It has the catchy hooks one expects from them with soft piano, fun percussion and irresistible pop-leaning songwriting. The album only has one feature coming from Charli XCX.
Andrew Wyatt, the frontman for Miike Snow spoke to Rolling Stone about the new album and how it sounds different from their past works, which has actually been a pattern for the group from 2009's Animal to 2012's Happy To You.
"I think the question should always be 'Is it good or isn't it good?' Not 'Does it sound like you?' or what people's expectations of you are. You're always going to run up against expectations versus reality in all aspects of life. I think we challenged ourselves and we still ended up making stuff that's good. I think if people have an open mind, then they'll probably still be satisfied, but in a different way than they were with "Animal.' When I hear 'Genghis Khan,' I still hear main elements of Miike Snow, big time."
iii will be released on March 4, 2016. Fans who pre-order the album on iTunes will receive "Heart Is Full" "Genghis Khan" as instant grat downloads.
