Straight Outta Compton has been drowning in great news since it's August 2015 release. Now, four months since it's debut, Straight Outta Compton has been named "Best Film of 2015" by the African-American Film Critics Association. The F. Gary Gary directed film is well deserving of the award and all the positive feedback it has received.

Straight Outta Compton not only made over $160 million but it also became the highest grossing music biopic in history. The film had a $28 million budget and it surely made more than triple of that. Before the film dropped, there were plenty of mixed feelings and many felt that it wouldn't have depicted the actually story to it's full capacity. But the movie definitely shut down all those rumors. The cast, O'Shea Jackson, Jr. (Ice Cube), Corey Hawkins (Dr. Dre) and Jason Mitchell (Eazy-E), went above and beyond to portray their characters perfectly. Jason Mitchell especially did an extraordinary job portraying the deceased Eazy-E. The actor also won "Best Supporting Actor" for his role in Straight Outta Compton. It is clear that this is the just the beginning for Straight Outta Compton and the cast and the first of many more awards to come.
