Every year, Time magazine names the 100 Most Influential People in the World. The categories for 2014 were Acitvism, Arts, Business, Government, Religion, Sports and Science. Out of the 27 arts honorees, one country music singer made the list ... Carrie Underwood!

The talented lady was in good company, sharing the honor with Alfonso Cuaron, Amy Adams, Benedict Cumberbatch, Beyonce, John Green, Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, Kerry Washington, Kristen Anderson, Matthew McConaughey, Megan Ellison, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Robert Redford, Robin Wright, Seth Meyers, Sheika Al-Mayass, Steve McQueen and Yao Chen (to name a few).

Time honors their 100 and select a guest writer to share thoughts about each one of them. Carrie's friend is none other than Brad Paisley. Talking about his friend, Paisley said, "she’s a prolific songwriter, a trendsetter and an Opry member. But it’s her decency as a person that is so impressive."

The annual list recognizes stand out individuals for activism, innovation and achievement in their fields. The complete list appears in the May 5 issue of Time, which hit newsstands on Friday, April 25, 2014.
