With 2015 winding down, we're all looking forward to 2016, especially when it comes to new movies hitting theaters in the new year. Though we had a wild ride with this year's releases, including The Hunger Games: Mockingly - Part 2, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and more, we are way too excited for what's to come next year. Blockbusters like Captain America: Civil War, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Suicide Squad are making every list you're reading these days, but what else is in store for fans of action, drama, superheroes and every other movie genre in 2016? Let's take a look below!

Check out our most anticipated video games of 2016 right here!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Dec. 16)

We understand that this film could be included in our list of big blockbusters that we didn't want to take up space on our real list, but Rogue One is definitely worth talking about. Starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen and plenty more, director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) is bringing the first spin-off of the Star Wars franchise with a heist film. Yes, it's a Star Wars movie, but we're expecting more than just a sci-fi adventure next winter.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (Oct. 21)

Tom Cruise returns as the military detective with an unrelenting drive for justice, based on the popular Lee Child book series. Fans of the first film are sure to head to theaters next fall for this one, especially since Cruise is reuniting with The Last Samurai director Ed Zwick for this sequel.

Deadpool (Feb. 12)

Fans of the Marvel Comics character are getting what they asked for this Valentine's Day season, with a foulmouthed, bloody, R-rated Deadpool movie made with them in mind. Ryan Reynolds stars, and we cannot wait for this absurd treat.

Ghostbusters (July 15)

Director Paul Feig is delivering an all-female Ghostbusters in 2016, starring Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig. We know that these hilarious talents are going to bring something very special to the franchise.

The BFG (July 1)

Steven Spielberg is directing the Roald Dahl film adaptation. Do we need to mention any other names? Okay; Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader and Mark Rylance star!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Nov. 18)

Are we ready to experience the world of wizards created by J.K. Rowling? Though we won't see Harry Potter, this prequel story is showing us the States' magic users and some incredible creatures that fans of the book series can't wait to see come alive on the big screen.

Hail, Caesar! (Feb. 5)

The Coen Brothers return in 2016, reteaming with George Clooney for a look at the golden age of Hollywood in this new comedy.

The Girl on the Train (Oct. 7)

Author Paula Hawkins' book has already received comparisons to Gone Girl, so it's obvious why we're getting a film adaptation ASAP.
