Timbaland has released his new mixtape King Stays King. The 17-track mixtape features a wide variety of different artists like Migos, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, Aaliyah and Yo Gotti.
Timbaland's touch is present on production throughout the tape, but he is assisted or leaves the production to names like Milli, Fade Major and Kaui.
There is plenty of vintage Timbo music on here and some attempts at harder beats as well. As a long-time Aaliyah collaborator, he digs into his rarified trove of unreleased Aaliyah verses and puts down one of hers on the second track "Shakin."
The new Christmas treat from Timbaland caps off another big year from the producer who has been heavily involved in the hit series Empire and grown his reach beyond the confines of music. King Stays King serves as a primer for his upcoming album Textbook Timbo expected sometime in 2016.
