During a New Year’s Eve performance in Miami, Drake revealed that his Views From The 6 album would be released “very soon.” More than a week later, the Toronto rapper’s go-to producer, Noah “40” Shebib, shared an Instagram post, hinting that the new project is complete.

On Friday (Jan. 8), 40 posted a somewhat cryptic photo of a file simply named “Views.” He captioned the photo with a folder emoji, leading to speculation that the album would finally be ready for release. However, this wouldn’t be the first time fans received partial updates about when it would drop.

Back in November, a promotional clip surfaced, unveiling a January 6, 2016 release date for the album. In addition to various other symbolic images, the clip shares a note, reading, “The 6 is watching. Hope you’re ready to face him.”

That same month, a mysterious billboard seen in Drake’s hometown prompted many to believe that the album’s release was approaching. Adding to its mystique, Drake shared a photo of the black billboard, which read, "The 6 is watching." He captioned the since deleted photo with, “be home soon.”

Drake first revealed the title of his fourth studio effort back in July of 2014. It was believed that the album would drop in spring 2015 because of a line from "0-100 / The Catch Up,” where he raps, "We already got spring 2015 poppin' / PND droppin' / Reps-Up P droppin' / Majid Jordin droppin' / OB droppin' not to mention me droppin'."

Though fans have been anticipating the release of Views, Drake has managed to keep the masses satisfied with releases including his platinum-selling IYRTITL, WATTBA with Future and his infectious “Hotline Bling” single.
