Gwen Stefani may have exited The Voice after season 9 to make room again for Christina Aguilera, but the "Used to Love You" singer might just return to the NBC singing competition in another form: as boyfriend Blake Shelton's mentor during the battle rounds.

US Weekly reports that NBC has tapped Stefani once again for The Voice, though this time she will just be a high profile mentor for Team Blake.

Despite US Weekly running with the Stefani mentoring Team Blake storyline, NBC has yet to confirm the news. On Wednesday (Jan. 13), NBC presidents Bob Greenblatt and Paul Telegdy remained mum on whether or not Stefani would make an appearance during this spring's season of The Voice, simply saying she "maybe" will return as a mentor.

As E! Online reports, Greenblatt and Telegdy emphasized that they're focused on the upcoming 10th season of The Voice and not whether or not Stefani will return in the future.

"We know what we're doing in the spring, because the diva's back, Christina's coming back, and for the fall, we've got the Olympics, so I would only tease that yes, there will probably be some familiar faces. As I say, we like to switch it up, so I think there will be some fresh faces too," they said.

Of course, if Stefani were to return, she would be a familiar face around The Voice set. She was a coach in seasons 7 and 9 alongside Shelton, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams. Though she has yet to win a season of the show, her contestant Jeffery Austin made it to the finale during season 9, though he was ultimately beat by Team Adam's juggernaut Jordan Smith.
