Rihanna's long-awaited, fifth studio album, Anti, finally hit the public in an unexpected way--Tidal accidentally leaked the 13-track album on its own. Along with the Drake collaboration, "Work," fans were surprised early with a cover of Tame Impala's "New Person, Same Old Mistakes." Now that the album has been sufficiently streamed, frontman Kevin Parker spoke out to give Rihanna his praises on a cover well done.

The cover, titled "Same Ol' Mistakes," mimics the original track found on the Australian natives' third studio album, Currents. Following Innerspeaker and Lonerism, Currents has received wide-spread acclaim and already won a handful of awards. The group's management brought light to how the cover came about in a recent statement.

"The Roc Nation [Rihanna's management] team got in touch with us here at Spinning Top letting us know that Rihanna loved the Tame Impala track 'New Person, Same Old Mistakes'. They asked if she could cover the song for her new record," it explained.

"Kevin was more than happy to send it her way. We're all really happy with how the song turned out, love it!" the statement adds. Anti was dropped for free via Jay Z's Tidal on Thursday January 28 while the deluxe edition, including three complimentary tracks, was released Friday January 29.

2015's Currents took a different turn from their expected psychedelic rock sound when the band decided to take a dance-leaning approach. The jump in genre drew uncertainty and rubbed some fans and critics the wrong way but ultimately, the new sound suited Kevin Parker and company just right.

"It's actually telling someone, 'I know what you think I'm doing is fake,'" Parker told Stereogum in July of the track. "I know you think it's like a sellout move. You think that this isn't real, but hey, you know what? Maybe I like fake."
