Both Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift have shown their support for Kesha in recent days after the "Timber" singer lost an injunction bid to be freed from her contract at Sony Music and her alleged rapist Dr. Luke. But, that doesn't mean that their various methods of support line up with each other. After a Swift fan said Lovato's social media support wasn't nearly as powerful as Swift's monetary donation, Lovato clapped back on Instagram, saying Swift is being too politically correct.

Over the weekend, Lovato posted a lengthy letter on Twitter, in which she called for "self-proclaimed feminists to start speaking out or taking action for women's rights." The tweet, which was read as a slight toward feminist-but-silent Swift by some, did not sit well with Instagram user @proudofswift, who claimed that Swift's $250,000 donation to Kesha was a better show of support and that Lovato was making Kesha's battle about herself.

And, as Us Weekly reports, that is not a message that sat well with Lovato. She responded to the user (who at the time had 55 Instagram followers), saying she doesn't have the money Swift has and she would prefer to use her fame to speak out on uncomfortable issues. Lovato also maintained that her initial posts were not pointed at Swift.

"How the f*ck am I making this about myself? At least I'm talking about it. Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn't grow up with money and def haven't made as much as her. At least I speak up about sh*t that's uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7," Lovato wrote. "There's no 'rivalry' I just give more f*cks about other people and would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person."
