Following his release of "Pillowtalk" which has been hitting charts, Zayn Malik is once again treating fans with a new single entitled "It's You" and released its music video exclusively on Apple Music, EW reported.
The new song is a slow ballad where Malik's falsetto, dreamy vocals deliver the refrain that says, "Tell me your lies/Because I just can't face it," Rolling Stone reported.
Malik previously debuted the said song in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Kimmel, which is rumored to be dedicated to his ex-girlfriend, Perrie Edwards. In the same episode, he revealed the album cover featuring his childhood picture. The former One Direction member also premiered his song on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Radio Show Thursday and made it available on Apple Music.
The song is from his upcoming first solo album, Mind of Mine, which is due for release on March 25. Ryan Hope directed the stripped-down video where Malik is seen longing for a beautiful woman, according to Billboard.
Malik teased a clip for the song's music video on Twitter that features a black and white cut where a woman wearing a gown is walking to a vintage car. Many are speculating that Gigi Hadid, his current girlfriend, is featured in it, same as how she appeared in the "Pillow Talk" music video with the singer.
But according to Mirror UK, the woman seen in the video teaser is 21-year-old Transformers: Age of Extinction star Nicola Peltz, who has a resemblance to the Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.
“There’s a song on the record called 'It’s You' which is to me I can tell a real centre-piece for the album. Vocally certainly,” Lowe said in an interview with Mirror UK. “It’s about the break-up of your relationship, clearly.”
The musician's first solo single, “Pillowtalk,” premiered at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and fans are surely looking forward to bring this new track on the chart as well.
