Rihanna and Adele have millions and millions of fans around the world, but don't count Keith Richards among them. In a new interview, the Rolling Stones guitarist slammed the two massive pop stars for using multiple songwriters for one record. And, in general, don't count this legendary rocker as a fan of modern pop music.

Richards slighted Rihanna, Adele and other 2010s pop stars in an interview with Time Out London. Given, he was baited a bit by the journalist who asked Richards how he felt about Adele, Rihanna and other stars using "so many" songwriters for their albums, as opposed to the Stones, who have (apparently) always done everything all by themselves.

"Well, they can't rely on themselves, can they?" Richards quipped.

The 72-year-old rocker, in general, is not a big fan of modern music, calling this era a "showbiz period." He also slammed shows such as The X Factor and The Voice, calling them bait for people who just want to be famous.

"It goes round in cycles. We're in the midst of a heavy-duty 'showbiz' period, even stronger than when we killed it last time," Richards said. "The X Factor and all this competition sh*t. It's just for people who want to be famous. Well, if it's fame you want, good luck. You'd better learn to live with it."

Richards and the rest of the Rolling Stones are coming off of their first-ever concert in Cuba, which took place over the weekend. The band made history by becoming the first British act to perform an open air show in Cuba.
