5 Seconds Of Summer are just four Aussie boys looking to break your heart. Today (June 23), the "She Looks So Perfect" band released a new song from its upcoming debut album and no amount of "Amnesia" will let you forget this acoustic ballad.

Co-written by fellow pop-punkers Benji and Joel Madden formerly of Good Charlotte, "Amnesia" finds 5SOS wishing they could pull an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and forget all the good parts of a relationship in the wake of a particularly painful breakup.

Here's just a sample lyric: "And all my friends keep asking why I'm not around / It hurts to know you're happy, it hurts to know you've moved on / It's hard to hear your name when I haven't seen you in so long / It's like we never happened, was it just a lie? / If what we had was real how are you so fine / 'Cause I'm not fine at all," the heartbroken boy band sings in the second verse.

The rest of the song finds 5 Seconds Of Summer pining for "Amnesia" so they could forget about how wonderful cuddling with its former love was.

Call me a sucker for a broken heart, but there's something so relatable about this song and so heartfelt that it is a true 5SOS standout. It almost makes up for that sort of awful "American Idiot" cover.

"Amnesia" is the final track on 5 Seconds Of Summer's upcoming debut album, fittingly titled 5 Seconds Of Summer. The album has thus far spawned the songs: "She Looks So Perfect," "Don't Stop" and "Kiss Me Kiss Me." 5 Seconds Of Summer will be released in the U.S. on July 22.
