Halsey, the singer of the hit songs "Colors" and "New American," recently revealed that she got pregnant and suffered a miscarriage last year while on tour. She also admitted that she had to perform live just hours after she had a miscarriage.

The electropop singer made the surprising revelation during an interview with Rolling Stone. According to the artist, she got pregnant while she was on tour to promote her first studio album Badlands, which came out in August 2015.

However, during that time, she suffered a miscarriage. As she went through the traumatic experience, which left her covered in blood inside a hotel room, she remembered that she still had to perform for the Vevo LIFT event in Chicago, Us Magazine reported.

Although Halsey already considered cancelling the show, she was reminded about its effects on her career.

"I'm like, 'I have to cancel this show!'" she told Rolling Stone. "And everyone's kind of like, 'Well, it's Vevo LIFT, and it's 3 million impressions, so...' No one knew what to do."

Despite her condition, Halsey still carried on with the concert. But, the 21-year-old singer admitted that during the time of her performance, she was wearing adult diapers. She also referred to the event as the "angriest performance" she ever did in her life.

According to the artist, the miscarriage may have been caused by her physical condition and busy schedule at that time. Although she didn't use drugs and stayed away from alcohol, her body still reacted negatively to her pregnancy because of how overworked she was.

She noted that she needed IV bags due to her constant dehydration. She was also fainting a lot and suffering from anemia.

Looking back on her experience, Halsey felt nothing but regret since she admitted that she wanted to be a mother more than a famous pop star.

"It's the angriest performance that I've ever done in my life," she said. "That was the moment of my life where I thought to myself, 'I don't feel like a f*cking human anymore.'"
