Actors of Hollywood are standing up against sexual harassment.

A popular stylist who works with A-list celebrities such as Tom Hiddleston and Armie Hammer confirmed that the 2018 Golden Globes awards ceremony will be an all-black affair. Actors will join the silent protest against sexual harassment in Hollywood.

The decision was made in the wake of the nearly 100 sexual misconduct complaints against Harvey Weinstein and dozens of other prominent personalities in the entertainment industry.

Actresses who have been vocal about the sexism in Hollywood such as Jessica Chastain and Meryl Streep have confirmed that they will wear all-black looks on the red carpet. Some say that the silent protest will be extended throughout the entire awards season.

He For She

Ilaria Urbanati, a renowned celebrity stylist, confirmed that her clientele will join the silent protest.

"Because everyone keeps asking me... YES, the men WILL be standing in solidarity with women on this wearing-all-black movement to protest against gender inequality at this year's Golden Globes," she wrote on a post on Instagram. "At least, ALL MY GUYS will be. Safe to say this may not be the right time to choose to be the odd man out here... just sayin..."

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, one of Urbanati's A-list clients, has already confirmed his participation in the silent protest against sexual harassment.

"Yes we will," he commented on the social media platform.

Karla Welch, another celebrity stylist, hinted that her clients will also wear black as a protest by responding to Urabanati's post. Welch works with stars such as Elisabeth Moss and Sarah Paulson.

Do More

However, the planned silent protest has already received criticism. A post on Mic pointed out that men do normally wear black at the awards ceremony.

"Black is the color that for years has been worn by people who don't want to be noticed," the post read. "To try to make a statement with the color doesn't feel right."

A writer for Daily Beast also thinks that these actors and actresses can do more to stop sexual harassment in Hollywood.

Rose McGowan, who accused Weinstein of rape, also criticized the silent protest. On a now deleted post on Twitter, the feminist activist argued that the time to be silent is over. She also specifically called out Streep who worked with Weinstein in the past.

"YOUR SILENCE is THE problem," McGowan wrote. "You'll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa."
